The following is a list of things that some people might feel guilty for if they were true of thier own lives. As for me, I own them. I am not ashamed. Don't get me wrong, I realize that this makes me less of the "super-mom" that I would love to be. But, honestly, I can't do it all, and I won't pretend that I can. For all the "super-moms" out there that have earned the title rightfully, I commend you. But for all of you out there who have as hard of a time as me when it comes to "fitting it all in" in the course of a 24 hour day, we are "super" in our own right! I consider myself super if I make it through a certain amount of time without having a nervous break-down, a crying (or screaming) fit, or anything else that would reveal my complete lack of self-control or sanity. Hope you enjoy! :)
1. I do not give my kids a bath everyday.
2. I do not give myself a bath everyday.
3. I don't sweep up after every meal (and for those of you who have had a baby learning how to feed him/herself, you know what this means).
4. Sometimes I pay our bills late... simply because I usually have no idea what day of the week it is , much less what day of the month it is. - Don't worry, they get paid eventually. :)
5. Sometimes the laundry will sit in the washer for over 24 hours, and instead of rewashing, I just put it in the dryer.
6. Teo had a leaky accident in his carseat a few months ago, and i still haven't washed it. - Lysol's ok for that, right?
7. I haven't vaccumed the upstairs in months.
8. I have a few, somewhat embarressing, gray hairs - but instead of pulling them out or immediatley dying my hair to restore them back to their fake lucious brown, I just leave them there for a while. I have to be in the mood to dye my hair, and as a working mom of 2, I rarely come across the "mood" to do anything pamper-ish for myself.
9. When no one else is around, I just let Teo pick his nose. The 15 minute conversation that would have to happen to explain why he shouldn't isn't worth my time... and he would just pick it again anyway. Thankfully, he thinks boogers and snot are gross and doesn't try to eat them (that might be one that I did feel a little guilty for).
10. Sometimes Eva will find a "puff" on the floor and she'll eat it. And I don't even try to stop her.
Mon, I love this list... You are a "Super Mom" and you have good perspective on what needs your attention and what does not! I hope you find time to pamper yourself on Mothers day! Love you Lots! Lydia
